Juliet Davenport, chief executive and founder of Good Energy, said: “Onshore wind farms have a vital role to play in helping reduce the UK’s reliance on expensive imported fossil fuels that are pushing up people’s energy bills. We’re very excited that this latest site will be part of our new Local Tariff, and we look forward to engaging with the local community during the final development and construction process.

“We are particularly keen to seek their views on how the site might act as a vehicle for local investment in the area.”

A Good Energy spokesperson added that plans were in place to develop the site and that construction work of the wind farm is expected to commence in March with the site being commissioned later in the year.

The proposed wind farm is expected to generate around 20,000 MWh a year.
