Housing plan rejected by councillors
East Riding councillors voted against plans by developer St Modwen for as many as 390 houses on open fields and grassland at Melton Park, with a 50-bed care home and bungalows and sheltered apartments for the elderly, near the A63.
The firm is already appealing against a decision last year to reject similar plans, but for as many as 510 homes. A hearing is due in April.

“It would in effect merge the villages of North Ferriby, with Welton, Melton and Brough into one huge conglomerate along the A63, destroying the identities of the local communities.”
