A cyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a heavy goods vehicle, Mercedes tractor and trailer in Hull.

Humberside Police are appealing for information about the collision on Freetown Way close to the junction with Spring Bank at 4.15pm yesterday.

The injured cyclist, aged 49, was taken by ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary where he remains today. His condition is considered to be serious but not life threatening.

A force spokesperson said: "Our officers attending the collision obtained witness accounts at the scene and as part of the continuing investigation are now appealing for any further witnesses. Anyone who has information who has not yet come forward is asked to call us on 101 quoting log number 395 of yesterday, Wednesday 22 November."
