Jessica, the London 2012 Olympic heptathlon champion, is urging people of all ages to sign up for the charity’s spectacular ‘Light the Night’ walk.

Now in its second year, the torch-lit walk gives entrants the chance to stroll through the ancient woodlands of Sheffield’s Ecclesall Woods, along a 4.5km route that is suitable for both adults and children. The walk will take place on the evening of Saturday, September 28, starting at 6.30pm.

Jessica, who is a patron of the charity, will be attending on the night to officially start the walk and is urging those taking part to raise as much sponsorship as possible.

“I’m proud to be part of such a fabulous event; I want to encourage as many people as possible to sign up for Light the Night and raise as much sponsorship as they can for this fantastic charity,” says Jess.

Money raised from Light the Night will help to make Weston Park Hospital an even more incredible place and we’d love you to help us beat last year’s total of £25,000.”

To encourage entrants to raise those vital funds, the charity is offering an opportunity for the top “golden” fundraisers to have a photo with Jessica on the night. For more details visit www.wphcancercharity.org.uk/light
