Leeds road reopened after gas leak UPDATED

One of the main roads in north Leeds has reopened after a gas leak.

Princes Avenue, which provides access to Roundhay Park, was shut while engineers attempted to repair a main.

The leak was within the park grounds.

Police shut the road between Roundhay Road and Lidgett Park Road and buses were being diverted.

Residents living in some nearby properties were told to keep windows and doors closed.

The police cordon was lifted shortly before 2pm.
