Humberside Police said it appears the driver of the car lost control just before to the Howden turn off at junction 37.

The two men were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary where one was pronounced dead and the second is receiving treatment.

The road was closed between junctions 38 and 37 to allow accident investigation work to be carried out and diversions were put in place.

The road closure was lifted at around 9am this morning.

Humberside Police said anyone who might have seen the Fiesta prior to it leaving the road or witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, referring to log 45 of January 29.
