A 57-year-old pedestrian died after he was struck by a silver Peugeot 307 in North Yorkshire.

The man from the Whitby area was fatally injured on the A171 near the roundabout with the A169 on the outskirts of the port shortly before midnight on Friday. Witnesses should call 0845 6060247.
