Man arrested after crashing car into Sheffield shop

Neepsend Lane with the junction of Rutland Road

A man has been arrested after crashing into a Sheffield shop in the early hours of the morning.

Officers were called out to Neepsend Lane close to the junction with Rutland Road near Kelham Island at 4.17am

A South Yorkshire spokesman said: "The driver was detained by officers for driving offences. There was damage caused to the shop front as a result of the impact.

"He was seen by a passing ambulance and paramedics called the incident in to us."

The driver wasn't injured and no other vehicles were involved.
