Man dies as blaze rips through Doncaster house

A scene of devastation was left following the fire that tore through the detached bungalow, leaving it with no roof and shattered windows.

South Yorkshire Fire say the house was well alight when crews arrived at the scene in Scawthorpe, Doncaster, at 6.30am today.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and carried for man from the property.

Crews used hose reels to extinguish the fire and an investigation into the cause of the fire will now take place.

The identity of the man has not yet been released.
