Man rescued from the river in York
A man who had gone into the river at York was pulled to safety last night.
Fire crews from Acomb and a boat from York responded to reports of a male in the River Ouse at 7.40pm near Lendal Bridge.
When the rescue teams arrived they found he had already been pulled from the water.
