Man stabbed in West Yorkshire village

Police are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in the stomach in the village of Honley in the Holme Valley. 

Officers were alerted called at 11.40pm last night, Friday, when the victim, a 20-year-old man, attended Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with a serious wound.

Police believe the man was stabbed in Berry Croft, Honley, at around 10.30pm.

The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition today, with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, police said.

Detective Constable Paul Morrison of Kirklees CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who was in and around the area on Friday evening who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have any information to come forward. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Officers want to speak to a white male aged 17 or 18 in connection with the incident.
