Man taken to hospital following Skipton car crash

A man was left with suspected neck and back injuries after his car left the road on the A59 near Skipton last night.

Fire and rescue crews from Skipton were called to the incident at 11.15pm.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said: “Fire crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle in order to gain access to the male driver, who it was suspected had suffered back and neck injuries. He was lifted out on a spinal board and taken to hospital via ambulance.”

No other vehicles were understood to have been involved in the crash.
