Man's death in York street: No suspicious circumstances say police

POLICE say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding a man's sudden  death outside a supermarket in York.

The man aged in his sixties was found outside Tesco in Piccadilly, York, in the early hours today. (Weds Aug 22)

Police said this afternoon that the examination of the scene has been completed and roads have been reopened.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman, said: "Police believe that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death. Officers will prepare a report for the coroner."Police were called by the ambulance service at around 4.30am today after members of the public came across the injured man.

Despite the efforts of members of the public and medical staff at the scene, he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
