Marchers demand ‘save our school’

A march is being planned to save Dunswell Primary, near Hull, which is threatened with closure.

The march to hand in a 2,000-name petition to County Hall, Beverley, is planned on March 2. Among those set to participate are Georgina Reed, 7, seen holding a petition with her mother, Julie, and brothers William, 10, and Louie, 9. “My children have been going to this school for eight years and I wouldn’t give it up for anything,” said Mrs Reed.

Marchers will meet outside Beverley High School at 12.30pm. The school, along with Langtoft and Gembling primaries, is earmarked for closure because of a new Government funding formula. picture: terry carrott.
