‘Medicinal’ cannabis plants stolen

Humberside Police are appealing for information after a quantity of medicinal cannabis plants were stolen in the East Riding.

The cannabis has no recreational drug effect due to its extremely low level of THC - the compound that gives cannabis its drug effect. It was being grown in the East Riding for its medicinal effect.

A police spokesperson said: “It is believed this type of cannabis is being sold on the streets of Goole and police are seeking information in connection with both the theft of the plants and the sale of the drugs.

“Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
