Missing diver’s body recovered

The body of a diver who went missing while exploring a wreck has been recovered.

John Skerry, 54, from Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, became separated from a group while diving at the wreck Breda in Ardmucknish Bay near Oban on Tuesday.

His friends raised the alarm when he failed to surface.

A search was launched and his body was recovered by Strathclyde Police divers on Thursday.

His relatives have been informed and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The Breda was a Dutch steamer sunk by a German plane in 1942.
