Model employees help fight cancer

WOMEN at one of Hull's biggest employers are baring all to raise money for a charity set up in memory of one of their former bosses.

Staff at Arco have volunteered as models for a calendar that is being sold to raise money for the Jo Martin Cancer Care Trust.

The trust was formed in memory of former joint managing director Jo Martin, who died of breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 39.

Funds will go towards the Yorkshire Scan Appeal, which will support the work of Professor Lindsay Turnbull of the Hull Royal Infirmary MRI Centre, and the Hull-York medical schools.

The trust is also supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, the North of England Oncology Association Annual Symposium, and Dove House Hospice.

Ms Martin's parents, Carolyn and Stephen, said: "Jo would be absolutely thrilled to know of the support the trust is giving to Professor Turnbull and her team in their research and development of MRI treatment for breast cancer from their base in Hull, and of the other great works of the trust."

The calendar will go on sale at Arco trade counters across the UK.
