Motorcyclist badly hurt in crash near Sutton-in-Craven

North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision near Sutton-in-Craven which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

It occurred at 2pm yesterday on Pole Road, Sutton-in-Craven, one-and-a-quarter miles from the junction with Green Dykes Road.

The collision involved a black Sukida motorcycle displaying L plates travelling westbound and possibly a black Vauxhall Vectra travelling in the opposite direction.

A 24-year-old local man riding the motorcycle suffered serious head injuries and was taken by air ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary where he is receiving treatment.

Traffic Constable Dave Seavers, of the force’s Major Collision Investigation Team, said: “If you witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.”
