MP recovers after surgery

A YORKSHIRE MP has had an operation after being seriously hurt during a skiing holiday.

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart, 51, broke his pelvis and several ribs and punctured a lung during a “freak accident” in the French Alps.

He had a 4½-hour operation at Hull Royal Infirmary to have plates and screws fitted to his pelvis.

He was said to be “comfortable” after coming out of surgery.

Mr Stuart slipped as he skied towards a restaurant and landed badly in the accident on March 17.
