MTE Heat Treatment: Over 30 jobs saved after Yorkshire firm bought out of administration

Over 30 jobs have been saved after a Yorkshire engineering services firm was bought out of administration.

Slaithwaite-based MTE Heat Treatment first appointed administrators in February, with the firm having now been sold after a period of trading in administration.

According to administrators, the firm had experienced ongoing cash flow pressures following an historic fire, as well as increased debt levels arising during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The business and its assets have now been sold to Metal Treatment and Engineering Limited, a subsidiary of Time To ACT plc, in a move administrators said would “safeguard” over 30 jobs.

Lee Lockwood and Gareth Harris of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory LLP were appointed Joint Administrators of MTE Heat Treatment on 24 February 2026.

Mr Lockwood said: “We are pleased to have secured a sale of MTE Heat Treatment, preserving employment for over 30 staff and providing a platform for the business to continue under new ownership. The transaction also ensures ongoing service continuity for customers. We wish the business and its employees every success going forward.”

MTE is a provider of precision engineering services, including heat treatment, induction hardening, gear cutting and surface treatments.
