NDET-13-04-17 Obit Alfred Tait

Dr Alfred Parrick Tait MB,ChB has passed away peacefully at his home in Chesterfield at the age of 99 years. The third child of John and Isabel Tait.Pat's early years were spent in Scotland. Following completion of his medical degree at Edinburgh University, Pat enrolled in the Royal Navy, serviving as a surgeon aboard H.M.S. Sussex. In 1947, he and his wife Honor, settled in Chesterfield where he embarked on his life-long career as a Family Practitioner.Three Children were born, Erica, David and Timothy. After Honor died , Pat married his devoted companion and loving wife of 50 years Dorothy.Pat was predeceased by his sister Nan and brother John, wives Honor and Dorothy, as well as sons David and Timothy.He is Survived by his daughter Erica and son-in-law Ron, two grandchildren and five great- grandchildren and two great great - grandchildren, all in Canada. As well as nieces, Isabel, Titti, Susan and Sarah and nephew John.In accordence with Pat's wishes no funeral will be held. He asked that donations be made to Ashgate Hospicecare.
