The car crashed into a house on Nelson Street, near the Trafalgar Pub, yesterday afternoon.
Police were called to the incident at 1.15pm where the red Ford Fiesta is believed to have scraped one car before crashing into the building.
One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “I was coming home from work and saw the car in the front of the house.
“The front of the house was bowed and the car was totaled at the front.”
The woman driving was not injured but is reported to have been shaken up by the incident.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “There is damage to the front of the house. There was no injuries and there wasn’t anybody injured inside the house.
“A structural engineer attended to ensure it was safe before they removed the car.”
