County’s strong performance in Best Places to Live Guide is no surprise: The Yorkshire Post says

After a year where home comforts have never been more important, the news that Yorkshire has had one of its most prolific years in the respected Sunday Times Best Places to Live Guide is a reminder how fortunate we are to call the county home.

The spa town of Ilkley has been named the regional winner for the north of England in its first-ever appearance in the guide.

There are four other new entries from Yorkshire – Easingwold, Todmorden, Masham and Slaithwaite – as well as a return for the Leeds suburb of Chapel Allerton and past winner York.

Guide editor Tim Palmer has revealed there are several other locations that narrowly missed out on inclusion, including the likes of Beverley and Hull.

In keeping with our lockdown times, three factors were key for the judges this year; countryside, community and convenience.

Wherever you travel in Yorkshire, those vital foundations for a happy life are available in spades.
