Focus on walking and cycling when lockdown is lifted - The Yorkshire Post says
Indeed,only last weekend, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said there had been a “massive increase in active transport”, whilst polling from market research company Ipsos MORI found three in five Britons would feel uncomfortable using public transport when lockdown measures are lifted. Dan Jarvis, the mayor of
Sheffield City Region, and Dame Sarah Storey, the great Paralympian, have now urged the Government to put walking and cycling at the heart of plans to get the country moving again, and they are right to do so.

Hide AdA long-term shift in behaviour towards such green modes of travel, including for the commute to work, would be a boost for health and the environment – but walking and cycling still needs to be made as safe, practical and easy as possible.
