Kevin Sinfield’s £2m feat for Rob Burrow and MND shows power of sport – The Yorkshire Post says

RUGBY LEAGUE has long prided itself on being a family and its unswerving support for Rob Burrow as he battles MND, and Kevin Sinfield who has just completed a seventh marathon on successive days, is testament to this.

The remarkable friendship between these two Leeds Rhinos legends, as the diminutive Burrow faces the match of his life, has resulted in more than £1m being raised by Sinfield, the seven figure milestone being reached as he completed his seventh marathon in honour of the sport’s most popular number seven.

He was energised by the words of encuragement from the remarkable Burrow who told him: “You continue to inspire and make me never want to give in.”

But they also explain why rugby league have taken Burrow to their hearts as the amount raised quickly snowballed to £2m on a tide of emotion and goodwill. His fearlessness on the pitch is now surpassed by the selfless resolve that he has shown since his devastating diagnosis, and a deep desire to help others fighting MND.
