Hide AdAnd while the move appears to have been prompted by a former student in the wake of historical connections to the slave trade, sparking predictable complaints of ‘wokeism’, it is, nevertheless, indicative of a thoughtful younger generation who are acutely aware of events – past and present – in a diverse world.
For, if this inspires youngsters to be more engaged in contemporary issues and uphold their school’s defining principles of ‘community, courage, curiosity and care’, this move could, quite possibly, become a lesson to all.
