Warning to all as Prince Charles catches coronavirus amid ’queue jump’ claims – The Yorkshire Post says
THE fact that so many jumped to conclusions, and immediately took to social media to join the sniping SNP and accuse the Prince of Wales of ‘queue jumping’ after testing positive for Covid-19, is indicative of the country’s unease.
His Royal Highness did no such thing. The Prince of Wales appears to have followed Government guidelines to the letter and was eligible for a NHS test because of his age – the heir to the throne is 71 and, therefore, deemed to be ‘at risk’.
The fact that he entrusted his care to the NHS is also another endorsement of hospital workers as they treat this contagious disease – he was clearly in the best possible hands before going into self-isolation at Birkhall, the Queen Mother’s former residence, in Scotland.
And as The Yorkshire Post sends its best wishes to Prince Charles, it is a reminder that everyone, from princes to paupers, is at risk to coronavirus – the disease does not discirminate – and that public health advice applies to all.
