What a shame, therefore, that this region’s troubled tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire can no longer do justice to the region following nearly three years of management turmoil that has compromised the efforts of its own staff and a £9bn a year industry and that the Government continues to pay ‘lip service’ to the rural economy, the trenchant response of CLA vice president Victoria Vyvyan to Rishi Sunak’s latest Budget last week.
