Why all posties deserve our stamp of approval this Christmas – The Yorkshire Post says

CAROL HUMPHREYs is the embodiment of all those ‘posties’ who have provided a truly first class service throughout the year.

Despite the trauma of her daughter being diagnosed with cancer, she has made it her duty to continue spreading some joy and happiness in Maltby where she was born.

From a cheery wave to forging a special bond with a young girl called Freya-Rose Kent who suffers from disabilities, even creating their own little dance that they perform whenever they spot each other, this devotion explains why Royal Mail staff are so valuable to their local communities.

Not only can a letter, greetings card or postcard brighten the day of the recipient, but their presence – and even a simple ‘hello’ – means the world to those people living a solitary and soul-destroying existence due to loneliness. As such, it’s fitting that Carol is one of six people to now be recognised by the ‘Thank You Postie’ campaign – the decision certainly has our stamp of approval.
