Why Rob Burrow’s MND struggle has humbled me – Yorkshire Post Letters

HAVING watched the incredibly brave and positive Rob Burrow documentary, I feel humbled. Along with other mothers
who have lost a much-loved
child, I know what heartache
is.

However, like those in my group, we have gone towards creating a positive, and
watching Rob Burrow with
his also incredibly brave wife
and adorable family, made
such a wonderful, moving, positive documentary.

Along with other sufferers of motor neurone disease (MND), they made us smile, laugh and show how to live. His future is daunting, but he goes about it with such positive, happy countenance.

The point of my letter is this, I feel humbled by this young man in contrast to the selfish, moaning and negative people who ‘don’t like wearing a face mask’, who refuse to socially distance and ignore the consequences because they (experts?) don’t believe it necessary.

It is not a big ask to wear a mask, wash hands and socially distance. Really? I feel it is time we stood up to be counted, regardless of the PC brigade, 
and shame these people who do this.

Well done Rob Burrow, you are a true hero.
