Andy Burnham’s bellicosity is unlikely to go unpunished by Russia - Yorkshire Post Letters
From: William Loneskie, Oxton, Lauder, Berwickshire.
Prime Minister Andy Burnham is under the illusion that Ukraine can bomb Russia with British Storm Shadow missiles and advanced drones with British technological backup and satellite data to hit targets within Russia without consequence.
But only an idiot would think that Ukraine could bomb the oil refineries, warehouses, holiday beaches, packed buses, teacher training dormitories of Russia and that Russia would fail to respond.
Yet when Russia retaliates by systematically destroying Ukraine's infrastructure factory by factory that is, in Burnham's words, "outrageous". Now he has gone further and supplied secret blueprints to Ukraine to manufacture more missiles. What could possibly go wrong?

Mr Burnham should remember the words of Air Chief Marshall Bomber Harris: "they sowed the wind and now they will reap the whirlwind" as the RAF launched nightly 1,000 plane attacks on German cities.
There's an apocryphal narrative of a police stop of Harris for speeding in his Bentley. The officer warned the great man that driving at that pace "might have killed someone" to which Harris replied "Young man, I kill thousands every night".
Compared with the area bombing campaign from 1942 to 1945, Russia has been cautious in the extreme considering it has the power to reduce Ukraine to rubble. No good will come of Burnham's bellicosity.
Andy Burnham says the UK is standing with Ukraine 100 per cent - and presumably will do so for Starmer's Hundred Years Treaty - to say nothing of the billions of British taxpayers money flowing in a steady stream to Kiev.
Burnham has spent more time talking to Zel Boy than to the three First Ministers of the devolved nations put together. So much for his much trailed commitment to devolution. Meanwhile all the UK's economic indicators are flashing red.
