Attenborough was class act

AMONGthe many tributes to Richard Attenborough I see little mention of a film called The Guinea Pig in which he starred. It came out in 1948. In it, Attenborough played a tobacconists’s son sent to a snooty, public school where he was given a hard time. Though in reality Attenborough was well beyond school age – probably in his mid-20s – he gave a convincing performance in what then was a controversial film.

IT would now seem that we have fellow citizens who are opposed to everything Britain stands for, yet it would appear the thing they cling on to most is a British passport.
