Boris Johnson’s flat refurbishment costs are irrelevant – Yorkshire Post Letters

From: Mr D Hutchinson, Kirkbymoorside.

IS the best thing that our main Opposition party can come up with the question as to who actually paid for redecorating the flat in 10 Downing Street?

Does anybody out there actually really care? Any interested people in America must be incredulous. The White House gets a revamp at least with every new President, but I do not remember this being headline news.

Boris Johnson got us out of the European quagmire at the same time as, in my view, doing a very good job spearheading the fight against the Covid pandemic. I sincerely hope he is not losing any sleep about the colour or cost of the wallpaper.

HERE we go again. Sir Keir Starmer jumps on the Boris Johnson bandwagon, hoping to put the knife into Boris regarding the Cummings hint-dropping regarding decorating his Downing Street residence.

Is this the best Starmer can do? Does Starmer think for one moment that he has a chance of moving into Downing Street? In my opinion the answer is definitely not. I would have thought he’s got enough on his plate trying not to lose Hartlepool in the forthcoming by-election.

NOT being wedded to one particular political party I buy The Yorkshire Post for a wide spread of opinions from your columnists and correspondents. May I say you do an excellent job of presenting different sides.

However I am concerned by your regular correspondent Terry Palmer. He says nothing fresh but displays a one-sided dislike for all things Labour. Whilst I respect that correspondents can put views from left or right, saying something new would help their case.

From: Paul Morley, Long Preston, Skipton.

DID Boris Johnson say he’d rather see thousands of bodies piling up rather than have a third lockdown or not? If he didn’t, no problem.

If he did, then he’s only echoing the thoughts of the many thousands of people, from ‘experts’ down to the morons who march maskless through the streets protesting against lockdown and assaulting our police officers whilst they do so.

Are they being pilloried for actually helping to increase the body count? Of course not. Just let the man get on with what is a very difficult job at this time.
