Council and club’s failings

I HAVE said this before and I will say it again after your latest coverage of Hillsborough (The Yorkshire Post, March 15).

It is easy to blame all the police but why did the management and directors of Sheffield Wednesday allow the FA Cup semi-final to go on? Why did Sheffield Council pass the ground for the match?

WORDS and phrases in our language come and go over time. A phrase that is currently in vogue and is frequently used, for example, by news reporters is “any time soon”. Why use three words when we have one that means the same – imminently? Let’s keep it and use it more.
