Don’t let ‘wokes’ undermine Duke of Cambridge – Yorkshire Post Letters

I WAS saddened to read that Prince William may not attend the Bafta awards this year, following the uncivilised and ‘wokish’ behaviour of the past.

I remember thinking at the time that the presenters, who think highly of themselves and their cruel wokish humour, were downright rude and cruel to poke spiteful comments at two lovely people who are not in a position to answer back. Most people who would have been subjected to their disgraceful behaviour would have walked out in disgust.

I certainly would. The freedom of speech they enjoy and spout on about is denied to anyone who does not hold with ‘their truth’. Someone’s ‘truth’ is the new talked-about freedom. Truth should be just that. Truth – not ‘someone’s truth’. Someone’s opinion is a different matter and how they perceive a given situation.

Wokism is very dangerous. I am a proud Yorkshirewoman and proud to say so. So many of the woke brigade condemn feelings of pride in our country. They snigger at the use of the Union flag and shout ‘little Englander’. The French, by contrast, stand firm in their belief of their country. We must be able to voice an opinion, without being spiteful and cruel, and not subjected to wokish bullying.
