Several independent studies have shown that climate change is making hurricanes, like Helene, more powerful and destructive. This one event devastated both coastal and inland communities in Florida and was quickly followed by hurricane Milton, creating further problems for overstretched emergency services.
The BBC has reported that conspiracy theorists are blaming Milton on shadowy forces at the heart of US politics manipulating the weather. This is nonsense! There’s no way an individual hurricane can be manipulated like this. Not when you consider that it was the record-hot

These ocean temperatures are at least 200 times more likely because of global warming, according to studies.
However, governments aren’t helping because many have conspired to prolong our use of fossil fuels by giving billions in subsidies and tax breaks to the oil and gas industries.
And there’s even more madness, because wealthy nations provided $5.4bn in foreign aid to support fossil fuel projects in developing nations in 2022.

Hide AdThis makes no sense when I read that solar panels are capable of meeting the basic needs of the poorest communities in Africa whose only other option is polluting diesel generators to provide electricity.
The dark forces aren’t manipulating hurricanes, they are helping the fossil fuel conglomerates.
