Leeds should be north’s capital

IF England is to promote a second (capital) city in the North as proposed by Sir Simon Jenkins in the Guardian, it must be Leeds.

Just check the geography, between Manchester and Newcastle upon Tyne, and the history.

It is close to the Roman capital of York.
