But, with the exception of events like the Park Run, weekly football, the UCI cycling or Bonfire Night, The Stray remains a vastly under-utilised resource. Very rarely do you see people using this space for general relaxation, play or respite from a busy working day.

WHAT a wonderful idea regarding wild flowers on The Stray. In today’s environmentally challenging times, having an area on The Stray bursting with colourful butterflies, bees and various other insect-friendly flora sends a message out that we really are serious about being an environmentally friendly town.

Children could be encouraged to be involved. This is an opportunity not to be dismissed.
