SAMS Place (Sleights Area Men's Shed) aims to combat isolation in men by adding back into their experience some of the friendship and banter they used to know in the workplace.

It works, and so do the Shedders.

People have been generous in donating tools and equipment and Fletcher & Woodhouse has donated a carpet runner to make SAMS a smart shed too.

However, we need to provide more storage facilities. Local companies, tradesmen or individuals might be able to help us with items like lengths of timber, a 3m long 90cm wide worktop, kitchen unit-type doors and a pair of doors in a door frame.

We would also welcome a suitably qualified person to test acquired older equipment for electrical safety.

If you can help we would be very pleased to hear from you.
