Letter: Mayfield Road - call in the Chuckle brothers

It took me 30 minutes to get out of Whitby on Monday May 17.

I needed to get to James Cook Hospital.

But the New Bridge was jammed, Danger Bank closed, Church Street to Bridge Street backed up.

What are North Yorkshire County Council and Scarborough Borough Council and the highways department trying to do to Whitby?

Incompetence comes to mind. Get the job done quicker and at off-peak times.

I think the Chuckle Brothers could have been there.

Local councillors need to be on the case, and do something.
