Liz Truss is reported to be preventing any increase in our foreign aid budget to help balance our books.

Congratulations PM, for what it is worth I think it would be an even better idea if our new Prime Minister was to stop all foreign aid and divert the huge amount of saved monies to help hard up British families, always remembering that charity begins at home.

I was also delighted to read that her government is issuing new licences for gas and oil exploration sites in the North Sea. That is great news, for eventually it means that this great nation would no longer be at the mercy of tin pot dictatorships for our energy supplies but would be 100 per cent self-sufficient in our own oil and gas.

As an added bonus I read that we are likely to start fracking again which, for our energy requirements, will be like manna from heaven.

I know that the siren voices of the climate fanatics will be hysterically demanding that we keep importing our energy needs from foreign suppliers, but most ordinary English people, will sleep a lot easier and warmer knowing that we have unlimited supplies of our very own gas and oil without being beholden to unreliable foreign governments.
