Lord Patel at Yorkshire CCC should be applauded, not attacked - Yorkshire Post Letters

From: John Wrathmell, Member of Yorkshire County Cricket Club, York

I was dismayed to read the YP's cricket writer Chris Waters' latest column on the state of Yorkshire Cricket.

He responded to a letter from a fan, Clare from Leeds, and described her as 'credulous', presumably because her views differ from his. Her views are just as valid as anyone's; Mr Waters should remember that supporters are the heart of the cricket club.

Personally, I agree with much of what Clare had to say. I think Mr Waters calling for the chairman of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) to resign is ludicrous: Lord Patel has brought the Club back from the brink, he's restored Test cricket to Headingley and he's successfully attracted new sponsors.

Lord Kamlesh Patel is chairman of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.Lord Kamlesh Patel is chairman of Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

He should be applauded not attacked. Mr Waters seems to forget to list any of Lord Patel's achievements when he writes about YCCC. It's not objective or accurate, and Yorkshire Post readers deserve better.
