March 11 letters: Why we should mark Easter

WE are coming up to Easter, but do most people know what Easter is about and what we are celebrating? Many buy Easter eggs and sweets and have a day off work. Easter is celebrating the life of Jesus Christ, what he lived for and what he did for us. He suffered, hung on a cross and died for all our sins, beforehand, now and later. It’s the main event in the Christian calendar and wants to be remembered by all during the period – and always.

WHAT is to be gained from bringing up Jimmy Savile’s past again? It is obviously to cover up what is happening now with the NHS and some local authorities.
