Mistaken over policing costs

From: Raymond Barry, Long Lane, Laytham, York.

REGARDING the FOI request that purportedly showed taxpayers had been hit with over £200,000 for policing Leeds United matches (The Yorkshire Post, January 3). Had the football match not taken place, would the taxpayers have been subjected to carefully calculated rebates? Would the officers involved have been put on unpaid leave for the match duration? Of course not.
