Remembrance and Armistice events do justice to veterans – Yorkshire Post Letters

BBC coverage of Remembrance events was first class, and if anyone has any doubts about our monarchy, one had only to see our 94-year-old Queen at Westminster Abbey at the foot of the Grave of the Unknown Warrior. Alone, standing pensive and obviously in prayer, and a lone Piper present. Both touching and moving, this was one time when I was proud to be British.

WHAT an excellent and timely double page spread on Remembrance (The Yorkshire Post, November 7). It was much needed in these days of a less visible than usual Poppy Appeal. The icing on the cake was the Nostalgia article of the early days of the Poppy factories, almost 100 years ago. Thank you.
