record straight

referring to the letter from E Andrassy of Horbury, formerly of the York & Lancaster Regiment, (The Yorkshire Post, March 7), my father Arthur Gidley was discharged from the York & Lancaster Regiment in 1917, having been invalided out. He died in 1979 aged 92.

with reference to the appalling rise in vicious gun and knife-related crime, isn’t it about time that habitual offenders were conscripted straight into the British Army?
