Starter farm blighted

From: Robert Rogers, East Heslerton, Malton.

I AM a tenant of a 104 acre North Yorkshire County Council farm and I would like to ask who would want to take on a NYCC starter farm (Yorkshire Post, February 18).

I got a NYCC farm in 1991. The farm is in a very dilapidated state. One of my five sheds is so structurally unsound they told me to not use it and to keep away from it. I was told they had no money to replace it or in fact take it down. That was 15 months ago and is now listing even worse!

Two other buildings have serious structural problems.

Beware Greeks with a bailout

THE latest EU bailout for Greece will not work. The Greeks are entirely to blame for the horrendous mess that they are in, and it is wrong to blame Germany for their situation.

The only mistake the Germans made was to do away with their mighty Deutsche Mark. In a few months’ time, the whole farcical situation will re-present itself.

Poor substitute

AS a regular watcher of Countdown, I note that Jeff Stelling has (unfortunately) been replaced by Nick Hewer. Jeff Stelling was a really good host and Rachel Riley was in tears when he left!

Nick Hewer is a very poor substitute for Jeff Stelling.

Speaking aloud

WATCHING the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition, during their weekly PMQs verbal battle, Speaker Bercow constantly and annoyingly interrupted the proceedings.

Does he like hearing his own voice?
