President Eisenhower in his final address to the American people on television on January 17, 1961, warned against the dominance of the armaments industry saying: this "immense military industrial complex has the potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power...with grave implications".

There is a strong connection in the US between arms companies, former military personnel and senators and representatives. The words ‘sponsor’ and ‘donor’ spring to mind.

The 100 largest armaments companies world-wide had record revenues totalling $679bn in 2024, with American companies securing $334bn of that sum. The war in Ukraine was lucrative with profits surging. The oddly named Czech arms company Czechoslovak Group saw its income surge by 193 per cent.

The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute reports regularly on the arms trade; their website is most informative. Peace does not bring work to these companies; they thrive on death and destruction.

The mechanisation of war has been taken to a new level with drones further distancing the killed from the killers. This began with Obama's assassinations by drones flying thousands of miles away while he watched the deaths on a monitor.

Now, in Ukraine soldiers on both sides dare not move in case they are executed by FPV drones (First Person View) which work like some ghastly video game with the operator using a control pad and a screen to kill or maim.

There is also the malign influence of the CIA, Mossad, and other shadowy organisations which operate outside the law with huge budgets to bring chaos and carnage world-wide. There are also 12,500 planet-destroying nuclear warheads ready to be used by nine countries. Meanwhile the public continues to be diverted by the lives of the Royal Family and their associates, to say nothing of the supposed ‘climate crisis’, the ‘climate emergency’ and the lunacy of net zero.
