Yorkshire being ignored by Westminster and BBC weathermen - Yorkshire Post Letters
Am I the only one getting thoroughly irritated by both politicians and especially the BBC ignoring Yorkshire?
Whenever Westminster mentions ‘the North’, they seem to assume that ‘the North’ is one small area.

Perhaps those in Westminster have no idea of the size of ‘the North’ given they exist in a cloistered world consisting of London and Greater London and probably never venture past Watford.
Then we have the BBC, who also being London-based, fail to recognise the enormity of ‘The North’, especially when giving weather forecasts – in fact Yorkshire is seldom mentioned on Radio 4.
“It’s going to be unsettled weather in the North East,” they say.

It really gets my goat, and I wonder how my fellow Yorkshire readers feel about it. Do we exist or not?
