"A further announcement will be made in due course about the position of Town Crier."

Mr Hinde, who boasts the title of world's loudest town crier, first took on the role in February 2012.

The well-known figure in Bridlington recently rose to fame for his appearance in the Dad's Army Film.

Mr Hinde's appointment four years ago brought an end to a 111-year period of Bridlington being without a crier.
